Something about this song's music is discordant to me, and ultimately, that was too distracting for me to enjoy the song.  It just really feels like the guitar is out of tune or something, but I assume this is an intentional choice Darnielle made.

I am traveling this week and won't be bringing the book with me, so I'll have to play catch up when I get back!

Oh, I liked this song! But then, that's how a friend recruited me into her community orchestra's chorus -- they were doing discordant music (the Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra). I dropped out when I changed jobs and my commute got longer. I'm not sure why the title refers to Dana Plato, unless it's an urge to slow down (the actress had a bad ending: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dana_Plato)
